KISSMetrics Introduces My Analytics, A New Mobile Google Analytics Checker

It’s been just over a year since the Google Analytics mobile app was introduced. Not much has changed since then. This morning, the folks at KISSMetrics announced the launch of My Analytics, their Google Analytics app for iOS device users.

My Analytics has been in development for the past several months. Since February, I have been fortunate enough to be involved with the testing and needs development process. The KISSMetrics team was quite responsive and aimed to make changes based on comments made by the testers. In some cases, they followed up with more questions, just to be sure. The result is the new My Analytics app out today.

The app contains quick access to reports for:

  • Visits
  • Unique visitors
  • Pageviews
  • Goals
  • Ecommerce Transactions
  • Ecommerce Revenue

More importantly to some, the app offers comparison data between two time periods. Built into every report, you can compare data between today and prior weeks for all of the metric reports.

While My Analytics was created by the same people who brought you KISSMetrics, it is strictly a tool for Google Analytics. The My Analytics team build the app as a quick way to check web traffic using Google Analytics out of necessity.

Speaking to Search Engine Watch, a spokesperson for My Analytcs cited current apps that leverage Google Analytics data do not let you compare data over time. Upon observing this significant omission, the KISSMetrics team saw an opportunity.

“We saw the gap,” said Lars Lofgren, Product Marketer. “We wanted to build an app and give back to the analytics community. People have supported us immensely through our blog and by using KISSmetrics so we wanted to say thanks.”

When launched, the app asks you for your Google account credentials. If you use two-factor authentication, fear not. The app works seamlessly with the two-factor PIN feature. When finished, you can even choose to log completely out of the Google Analytics connection to use a different account, if need be.

My Analytics is only available for iOS devices and there are no plans for an Android or Windows Phone version, though it hasn’t been ruled out for future consideration. At present, the My Analytics team is currently focused on making improvements to the iOS version and incorporating the feedback from the masses now that the final product is live in the wild.
